Patronus, a Berlin, Germany-based healthtech startup, raised USD7M in Seed funding.
The round was led by Cavalry Ventures with participation from UVC Partners, DN Capital, Hanno Heintzenberg and Lukas Pieczonka, Emanuel Pallua, and Johannes Roggendorf.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the set of products to other stakeholders.
Led by Ben Staudt and Tim Wagner, Patronus is a healthcare startup developing digital tools to improve elderly care and well-being. The company currently offers a digital watch software for the elderly as well as a mobile app for carers and family members.
With its proprietary software, Patronus transforms a smartwatch into a reliable companion for elderly people – including an emergency call function, from anywhere and at any time. Soon, family members will be able to be involved more in the care of their loved ones, as well as professional caregivers, inpatient nursing homes, physiotherapists, and physicians. The system will also make it possible to keep track of medication and facilitate coordination of tasks with other caregivers.
